Cassie Moore
I am an Accounting Clerk II. I record daily bank transactions, complete month end journal entry reporting and maintain the fixed assets ledger and database. Previously I worked at the South Plant as a Press Clerk, and in the Data Verification Department that was in Brookfield.
Each day I complete bank entries for our main account and make sure we are balanced, as well as handle various email requests from all facilities. I also work with individuals in the School Store ensuring customers’ refunds are processed when needed. I also work with Billing and Brookfield staff generating journal entries for The Donning Company during the month and at month end.
Walsworth is my first job in the printing industry. I tell people before I worked here, I knew all about how to read books, but no idea how they were printed. That has definitely changed since I’ve worked here. Honestly, I started working at Walsworth because it was very close to my home, and I was in need of a job. However, that wasn’t the reason I stayed. I have enjoyed my first six years here and hope to have many more!
Strange enough, the thing I love most is when things are out of balance. It gives me a jolt when I’ve had to dig and figure out the cause and when it’s found, I feel a little bit of pride in myself.
My personalized coffee mug would say: SMILE!!! That’s one of my favorite things to do. You never know who you can affect by doing something that takes little effort, but you could brighten someone’s day.
I enjoy the people I work with and there is never an end to learning in the Accounting department and I love that.
Fun fact: I’m a picky eater (those who know me have probably heard me say it) and I don’t eat ANY fruit that starts with the letter P!
Next to my faith, my family is the most important thing to me. I grew up in a household filled with hugs and love and my parents ALWAYS stressed the importance of family. I make sure my husband and kids get that same love from me and will NEVER doubt my love for them.
I love to read, and you can usually catch me with a book in my hand on break. I love singing and dancing (not professionally or anything, but I’m not half bad).
When I left my previous job, I thought I wouldn’t find a place I enjoyed working at as much as I did there, but I was wrong. I have met and still work with some amazing people and am grateful for the opportunities Walsworth has afforded me and my family. My supervisors have been great (even you, Chad!) and have always encouraged me to continue pressing towards my goals!
I contribute to the community by purchasing products from small businesses. I also have the opportunity to participate in the 36/5 Leadership Alliance and plan to help out with that in the future.
This may not count as one of my favorite memories, but it was definitely one of the stranger ones. We had a blackout about five years ago and we were in the dark for about 2 hours over at the South Plant. My supervisor decided that was a great time for an employee meeting. We had a “vent all your frustrations” meeting in the dark for at least 45 minutes. That’s one way to try and still be productive during a blackout!
