Laurie Sasada
Accounting Clerk, Ripon, Wisconsin
My current title is Accounting Clerk and a Location Leader at Walsworth — Ripon. During my time here, I have worked in Bindery, Mailing, Prepress and Lean.
A day in the life of an Accounting Clerk is analyzing information from throughout the plant in order to create an invoice for the customer of work completed on their project. It can also be answering questions from other departments, Sales Reps and customers.
I have worked in the printing industry at Walsworth for 37 years come June.
When I started working here, it was Ripon Printers, and it was a family-owned business, and it felt like home. It was close to where I lived and everything it offered was what I was looking for. I was here when it was purchased by Walsworth, and I stayed because it is still a good fit!
What I love the most about my job is that I am trusted to do my job; we are not micro-managed. I come in knowing what I need to get completed and work on accomplishing that during my day!
My personalized coffee mug would say: “Sassy.”
I want to come into work every day for the independence and the people! I have the independence to come in and do my job, and the people I come in contact with daily are a fun and approachable group. No matter which way you go in the plant, it’s the people!
A fun fact about me is that I am very involved in Wisconsin Lions and Lions International. It is a big part of who I am, and it will continue to be even in retirement.
My family includes my husband Jim, who I have been married to for 34 years come September. We have two children: our son Jared and our daughter Kailie. She has a daughter (our granddaughter) named Brynleigh. We have a dog named Bowen, who is a Beagle mix, and two cats: Maggie and Lokie.
One of my favorite hobbies is enjoying the outdoors, taking pictures and community service projects through my Lions club. My granddaughter is a joy, and spending time with her and teaching her the things our family enjoys is so much fun!
Walsworth has contributed to my future by providing job security for 37 years, and they have always supported me with my activities with the Lions and through the years of raising my family, and now the next generation.
I give back to my community by being involved in Adopt-a-Highway, Meals-on-Wheels, donating blood and being very active in Lions.
Gosh, there are so many favorite memories working at Walsworth, but I love how you work with so many people who have different interests, come from different towns, but then you can get together with them to do roadside cleanup and have one heck of a good time!
