Yearbook Sales Representative, Houston, Texas
I’m a Yearbook Sales Representative. I go to my customer schools and help them create an incredible yearbook and go to schools who work with other yearbook companies and meet to show them why they should work with me and Walsworth. This is my fourth selling season with Walsworth.
I was a Walsworth yearbook student in middle school and high school. My mom is also a Walsworth adviser, so while in college, I was still connected with my yearbook rep, Johnny Cole. In my senior year of college, I applied for and was offered multiple jobs but none of them felt right. Close to graduation, Johnny was meeting with my mom and told her I should apply to work for Walsworth! Yearbooks were already such a big part of my life with being on the Ole Miss yearbook staff and still helping my mom with her book, so I applied and became a Mobile Sales Representative. Johnny made such a big impact in my life being my yearbook sales rep growing up, and I wanted to make the same impact on the yearbook students I interact with.
The thing I love most about my job is seeing the transformation and creativity in the staffs I work with. From coming up with ideas to trying a new design and pushing themselves to have a better book than the year before, these students inspire me to think of new ideas every day. Plus, they’re so much fun to work with and keep me young and cool!
My personalized coffee mug would say: “#princess” or “Hey y’all.”
I love knowing that I’m helping my advisers and their staff throughout the day. My advisers have become my friends and I love that they trust me with something so special for their school and community.
A fun fact about me is that I love creating! In my senior year of high school, I started making and decorating sugar cookies. I still make cookies for special events for friends and family, but my favorite thing is making cookie kits during Christmas time so people can decorate their own cookies for Santa! This year will be my 8th year making the kits. I also taught myself how to make shirts with my Cricut and heat press. And then last year, I taught myself how to make gameday buttons and stickers and started an Etsy store where I sell those!
My family includes my parents and my two brothers, Harrison and Reed, who still live in Tennessee where I grew up. I love getting to visit them whenever I can, and they love visiting me in Houston.
Outside of work, I love reading and catching up with my book club. When the Houston weather isn’t too hot, I love going on walks. Most weekends I’m hanging out with my friends, and on a fall Saturday, you can find me in Oxford, Mississippi, watching Ole Miss football or watching it on TV. Hotty Toddy!
Walsworth took a chance on me giving me a job right out of college, and I could not be more grateful. I have grown and learned so much since I started this job and it’s because of my coworkers and management for supporting me along the way. I can’t see myself anywhere else!
My favorite memories of working at Walsworth are from our Texas workshops and conventions because all of Team Texas is able to be together. We’re always laughing and having the best time with each other.
