Imposition Operator, Saint Joseph, Michigan

I am an Imposition Operator. I take files and arrange them for the layout we are trying to achieve on press. Before that, I was a Conventional Plater. This was back when we used to strip film and burn flats of striped film on a plate.

I have 29 total years of experience in printing. I have been at Imperial Printing Company (IPC), Journal Communications and Walsworth for 25 years. The company has transitioned three times, but I remain.

I love working in print because it is a fast-paced environment. I never know what I will do or where the day will take me. It is always different.

I started in the print industry because my grandmother used to be a Sheetfed Operator in Illinois. Also, my uncle was a Web Operator there as well.

My favorite part of my job is seeing the finished product of what I do. I love to see the sigs I impose in print. It never gets old – I love working here. I like the sense of accomplishment when I leave. I love that I can take care of my family.

My personalized coffee mug would say: “Relax, we are all crazy!”

A fun fact about me is I have a good memory.

I married my best friend, and we have a cat named Cammille. My husband and I like walks on the beach. We like to thrift, travel and discover new places. We love spending time with family.

I give back to my community by shopping local when I can. We support Girl Scouts in our area.
